The IWMF sponsors an Annual Educational Forum (Ed Forum) held in a different US destination each year. This Forum typically runs 2-3 days, and all WM patients, supporters, caregivers, family worldwide are welcome to attend.
The 2024 Ed Forum will be May 3 – 5, 2024 at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, Renton (Seattle) Washington.A dynamic agenda is being planned to feature interactive sessions and topics intersecting science and humanity.
Our Ed Forum is the place to learn about Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemiafrom WM specialists involved in areas of clinical practice and research. Presentations address: symptoms and complications of the disease, current treatment options, new therapies, and recent research findings that may someday lead to a cure. The Ed Forum also offers breakout discussion groups on specific topics of interest to both patients and caregivers. The Ed Forum environment offers networking meetups for sharing experiences and supporting each other. Many presenters and faculty speakers stay for the duration of the Forum, which provides an opportunity for attendees to talk with the experts on an informal basis. Each Ed Forum concludes with the popular “Ask the Doctor” question-and-answer session.
What new and repeat Ed Forum attendees say:
“I gained knowledge, but of equal or greater value is the interaction with fellow WMers. I am not alone. There are otherswho have this rare cancer”
“I’ve attended Ed Forums since 2010, and 2023 was probably the best Ed Forum in terms of content and presenters”
“Really feeling like I was part of a group helped me see how differently WM manifests itself in each individual”
“Learning about the latest updates, hearing in-depth discussions on treatments, and meeting our wonderful doctors was a chance to get my questions answered”
